Training: Five Points of the Kehai

The Kehai is the breathing component of your training. More specifically, it is the exhalation of breath during a strike or a block. We practice the Kehai both during our training and use it in actual fighting/self-defense situations. Although you exhale on each kick, punch, or block, you exhale an audible Kehai on your last strike.

There are five points to the Kehai. Knowledge of this information is required for your belt.

  1. Untraps air
  2. Relieves inhibitions
  3. Increases power
  4. Focuses the mind
  5. Affects Opponent
