Dojo Today: Child and Juniors Program

As your child steps in the Dojo, these are the things you can anticipate:

Our Mission

To help Children develop into healthy, young adults with strong values, discipline, and self-respect.

Who We are

The Dojo has two primary instructors; Sensei vanderVeen and Sensei Sailors. Sensei vanderVeen and Sensei Saylors have been training together as best friends for 15 years.

Sensei vanderVeen is the primary instructor for children and juniors. Students will learn traditional martial arts; encompassing the ancient philosophies, techniques, and traditions of Kempo Karate. Your children will be introduced to traditional Katas, self-defense sequences, angles of attacks, aspects of the animals. and the customary respect and discipline exhibited in martial arts.

Sensei Saylors primarily teaches adults in the practical aspects of full-contact fighting with techniques from boxing and kickboxing. Some juniors that excel in discipline, respect, and fitness may be allowed to attend Sensei Saylors' classes; however, they will be expected to keep up with the adults.

The goal of the Dojo is to motivate children to improve their physical and mental ability in disciplined and fun-filled classes. Core values of respect, discipline, integrity, confidence, honesty, and self-control will be reinforced in each class. Contests and awards will be given to encourage development of core values and physical attributes such as balance. These are the results you can expect from your child's training:

We welcome anyone of any age and physical condition with the right attitude to join our family and we look forward to training with you.
